Alicia Mar Obituary

Alicia Mar, of Seattle and Lake Forest Park, WA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 4, 2025.

Born on April 15, 1939, to David and Mabel Chinn, Alicia grew up alongside her siblings Amelia and Elmer Chinn on Seattle's Beacon Hill. She attended Bailey Gatzert Elementary and later Cleveland High School, graduating with the Class of 1956.

On June 25, 1960, Alicia married Hoover Mar. Together they loved sports, travel, and spending time with family.

She is preceded in death by Hoover (1931-1999) and is survived by her children Rod (Kari) Mar and Diana (Brad Johnson) Mar of Seattle, Arnie Mar of Carmel, CA, and grandchildren Evyn and Damon Mar, and Kyla and Reese Johnson.

Alicia will be remembered for her humor, strength, devotion to family, her indomitable spirit, and the warmth she extended to everyone she met.

A celebration of her life will take place in the spring.

Remembrances may be made in her name to Kin On.
