Colin James Dincher

June 5, 1997 — January 22, 2025

Colin James Dincher, 27, most recently of Seattle, WA, passed away unexpectedly from unknown causes on January 22, 2025.

He was born June 5, 1997 in Palatine, IL, graduating from Fremd High School in 2015.

After high school, he attended the University of Utah, earning a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a member of Triangle Fraternity.

He was a pandemic college grad, graduating in 2020 and moving home to Palatine where he had his first job before moving back to Utah, which is where he met his fiancée, Julianne, in 2022. They were engaged in 2024 and planned to marry this September.

Colin is survived by his fiancée, Julianne Kimmel; his parents, John and Donna Dincher; his siblings, Megan (Alex) Marling, Ryan (Michele) Dincher, and Bridget Dincher; beloved nephews Oliver Marling and James Dincher; grandmother Judith Dincher; numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his dog, Ruby.

Throughout his life, Colin was always ready with a joke or a laugh, but also ready to listen. Whether it was joining high school gymnastics senior year with zero prior experience or earning his private pilot license, he jumped into new things with a prepared gusto, learning everything he could and giving each new thing his all. Most recently, he was passionate about cooking, reading, and being a good dog dad.

He will be missed for many reasons, but largely for his roles as partner, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was especially attentive to the details that mattered in your life, and he made sure you knew you were loved.

We hosted a memorial service for friends and family in Seattle on Saturday, January 25th. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 at his hometown parish of Holy Family in Inverness, IL (2515 W. Palatine Rd. Inverness, IL) on Friday, March 28th. Additional visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 on Saturday, March 29th, immediately before a funeral mass, which will begin at 10:30.

Those who knew or were impacted by Colin are encouraged to write notes to the family about him—favorite memories, examples of his impact on you, ways that you will remember him, etc. These will be collected for a book in his memory. There will be a place to write notes during visitation hours, or letters can be written ahead of time and collected during visitation. If unable to attend, but wanting to write a note, contact a family member for the best way to get that to them. Comments from the obituary page will also be used.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pilots to the Rescue , a cause close to Colin’s heart as a pilot and a dog dad.
