Constance "Connie" Marie Kobata

Born on January 10, 1947, in Kyoto, Japan, Constance “Connie” Marie Kobata passed away on July 11, 2023 at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington. After courageously surviving  breast cancer in 2006, Connie was diagnosed with uterine cancer 3 years ago. Determined to see her three beloved grandsons grow into adulthood with careers and families of their own, Connie fought valiantly and endured much to overcome her cancer. Throughout her ordeal with the loving support of her husband, Gary, Connie maintained a positive attitude, always looking forward with hope and determination for victory.

Besides spending time with her husband and family, Connie’s true passion was cooking and baking. She loved sharing the delicious fruits of her labor with family and friends, even as her condition weakened. Connie also had a natural gift for home décor, flower arranging, and of course, cutting and styling hair which allowed her a long and enjoyable career as a hairstylist. She also loved to travel, including trips to Japan, Europe, Hong Kong, Thailand, Florida, California, Alaska, Oregon, Las Vegas, Lake Chelan, and most frequently to Hawaii with annual trips.

Always thinking of others before herself, Connie will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. Predeceased by her parents and her son, Brent, Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Gary, her son and daughter-in-law, Daren and Anita Kobata, her sister and brother-in-law, Trisha and Deano Kiyohara, her three cherished grandsons, Seth, Jakson, and Kellen Kobata, and granddog, Willis.
