George Albert Martinez

George Albert Martinez, devoted husband, loving father and loyal patriot passed away on July 6, 2026. 

He was 79. George is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Guadalupe, and his daughter Marsha Marie. He is survived by his wife, Concepcion, daughter Lucy, and siblings Rosa, Arturo, Jesse, Irene, Michael and Alex, whom he loved dearly. 

George was born on September 24, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. The eldest of 7, he joined the Marine Corps as a way of making a better life for his family. After 9 years in the military, including a tour in Vietnam, he met the love of his life, Connie. They married in 1976 and relocated to Seattle, where George spent the next 33 years in civil service to his country. Together they raised two wonderful daughters and made a beautiful life.George was always smiling and laughing, or looking to make others laugh. He loved golfing, watching sports, and having a good meal with ice cream for dessert. 

He will be remembered for his kind heart, giving nature and love of family - which included friends, neighbors and coworkers. His presence will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at the Seattle VA hospital, especially the Community Living Center. The loving care and compassion shown to George in his last chapter of life will always be remembered.
