Henry Ging Hong Chin

December 13, 1933 — September 15, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Henry Ging Hong Chin, who departed peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 91.

Born in Guangdong, China, Henry graduated college in Hong Kong before immigrating to the United States in his early twenties to join his father. In 1961, he returned to Hong Kong to marry the love of his life, Wing Ching Eng. Together, they built a beautiful life and eventually settled in Seattle, where they raised their family with love, devotion, and grace.

Henry was a pillar of strength and kindness—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He cherished his relationships with extended family and maintained deep bonds with many in the community.

A hardworking and visionary entrepreneur, Henry co-owned Nu-Lite Restaurant with his brother. For over 30 years, he helped build not just a successful business, but a welcoming gathering place that served as a hub for the local community.

Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Wing Ching. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Lisa (Jeff), Alma (Danny), Sharon (Matt), and Norman (Pam); and by his grandchildren: Zachary, Madison, Braedan, Jonah, Lauren, Benjamin, and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister May Li (Walter), and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that remembrances be made in Henry’s name to Kline Galland Hospice.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Emmick Family Funeral Services Lake View (the Lakeview Cemetery Building across from the cemetery entrance) 1554 15th Ave East, Seattle, WA. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Henry’s legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
