John Yoshiki Hamada

Our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle passed away on June 3, 2024.

John Yoshiki Hamada was born February 14, 1951, in Yawatahama, Japan to Jerry and Kozue Hamada. Jerry soon immigrated to Seattle to help establish a better life for his family with Kozue and John following 3 years later. John attended Garfield High School and then went on to graduate from Highline College and the University of Washington. Throughout the years, John cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and uncle. After a fulfilling career, he retired from Boeing in 2019 and continued to take great care of his mother. He enjoyed spending his free time with family, friends, and his longtime partner Tomi.

John is survived by his mother Kozue; sisters Marie Hanada and Jenny Goto (Yuji); children Jody Patawaran (Ben Jr.) and Jamie Hamada (fiancé Steeve); beloved grandchildren Jenna and Trey; and adored nephews and niece, Kyle, Brent, Naomi and Jerry. He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone who knew “John from Seattle”.

The family is planning a private inurnment at Evergreen-Washelli.
