Juliene E. (Griffin) Harris
Julie was born June 11, 1931, in Portland, Maine, to Irish immigrant parents Peter and Mary (Concannon) Griffin. Julie was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at home on September 25, 2026, due to complications from Parkinson's Disease.
Julie was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage and cherished her Irish roots throughout her life. She was especially pleased to be a dual citizen of the United States and Ireland.
After graduating high school, Julie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While stationed in California, she met the love of her life, Donald Harris, a fellow Marine. Julie and Don were married for 60 years before Don's passing in 2012. Together, they were blessed with four wonderful children: Don, Greg, Deborah, and Kate.
Julie worked for Seattle Public Schools for over 25 years. She was also a dedicated member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish for more than 68 years. Julie was a devoted and active volunteer and rarely missed a parish event, celebration, or gathering. Her generosity, warmth, and commitment to her parish community touched many lives over the years.
Julie was preceded in death by her loving husband and her son, Greg.
She is survived by her children, Don (Laurie McClure), Deborah (Joe Robertson), and Kate (Dave Bemis); her seven grandchildren, Daniel, Kelly Jean, Bryan (Laura), Ryan (Amy), Tyler (Jennifer), Natalie, and Samuel; and her seven great-grandchildren, Tyson (Liana), Jack (Madison), Travis, Emerson, Callan, Rowan, and Ella.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Julie's wonderful caregivers, Hazel, Purity, Esther, and Eunice, as well as Elite Care Northwest, for the loving care and support they provided to Julie and her family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Parish on October 16, 2026, at 10:30 A.M., with a reception immediately following. Julie will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and son at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Our Lady of Fatima.
For a woman who lost her own mom at the age of four, she was truly the best Mom in the world. Semper Fi, Mom. We love you.
