Marvin Ray Cooper

Marvin was born in Montebello, CA and died in Seattle, WA. He graduated from the California Baptist College in Riverside, CA, was an ordained Baptist minister and served in the Peace Corps for two years as a settlement officer in Kenya. He worked at API in Issaquah until his retirement. 

Marvin was a passionate birder, traveller and photographer. He travelled to all seven continents. His last trip in October, 2025 was birding in Nova Scotia and a visit to Rhode Island that completed his fifty states.

 Marvin is survived by his wife, BiHoa Caldwell; stepson Mark (Katie) Caldwell; step granddaughter Frances Caldwell; sister Grace Frezquez and niece Tiffany Collins both of Hemet, CA.

 A memorial will be held on April 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Japanese Congregational Church at 1615 S Main St Seattle, WA 98144. Remembrances may be sent to birdsconnectsea.org or an organization of your choice.
