"In loving memory of Richard Francis Riley, born on 1/31/46, dedicated veteran, and retired Postal Service employee who passed away on 9/23/23. Richard served not only our country but also our communities through his many years of service.
Richard, (“Dick” or “Riley” as many knew him), honorably served in the US Army as a Specialist 4th class during the Vietnam Era and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He later continued his commitment to public service as a Maintenance Mechanic for the US Postal Service, where he retired after a long and successful career.
Beyond his professional life, Richard was a long-time resident of West Seattle and was known for his loyalty, kindness, and sense of humor. He is preceded by his parents, Orville “Jim” and Katherine, and his brother Dennis. He is survived by his sister-in-law, niece, aunt, cousins, and many dear friends.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of service and a community that is grateful for his contributions. A memorial service to honor Richard’s life and service will be held on October 26, 2023, at Tahoma National Cemetery (18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042) beginning promptly at 11:00 AM; where we will remember and celebrate a life well-lived."
