Shiro Roy Hayashi

Woodinville

Shiro Roy Hayashi, 90, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. Born January 9, 1936, in Spokane, Washington, Roy was the youngest of five siblings.

For more than 70 years, Roy shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Lillian. Their marriage was centered on love, friendship, service, and steadfast devotion. Roy never sought recognition for all he did; he simply wanted to help. Whether washing pans late into the night for one of Lillian's fundraisers, packing baked goods, making signs, or lending a hand wherever needed, Roy quietly showed his love through his actions.

Roy spent his professional life as an engineer with The Boeing Company, where he enjoyed a remarkable 71-year career. Away from work, he loved driving his Porsche sports cars, playing golf, and traveling the world with Lillian. Japan remained especially dear to them after living nearly two years in Nagoya while Roy worked for Boeing.

Although Roy and Lillian did not have children of their own, they poured their love into their nieces, nephews, and the children of dear friends. Roy treasured lifelong friendships that became family and will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, generosity, and quiet devotion to those he loved.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Lillian; his nieces and nephews; extended family; and many cherished friends.

Roy's life reminds us that love is often expressed not through grand gestures, but through simple acts of kindness and always being there for those we love.
