Teresa W. Pang

Teresa W. Pang was born on June 16, 1933 in Shanghai, China. She passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023 at 90 years of age.

Teresa lived a wonderful, adventurous, and entrepreneurial life. She moved to Hong Kong as a teenager where she started her first family and had her three children. In her late twenties (1961), she moved to Seattle to seek better opportunities and a new life for herself and her family.

Her beauty and charisma charmed everyone around her. One of her career highlights was debuting traditional Chinese fashion to the world at the Seattle World’s Fair in 1962.

Teresa met her second husband Allen Pang in Seattle, and together for over 30 years they owned and operated retail stores focusing on trading Asian merchandise. When they married in 1963, Allen adoringly renamed their businesses as Teresa of Hong Kong. They also owned and operated Yum Yum Restaurant on University Way throughout the 70’s and 80’s.

Teresa is well traveled, enjoyed a good wine, loved the performing arts, and adored her pet animals. She was a proud season ticket holder at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theater for many years. She always had a loyal dog by her side, Le-Fat, Sparkle, Jo Jo, Jasper, and Coco, and raised an exotic parrot, Gugu.

Teresa is survived by her three children, Cecilia, Lucia, and Peter, and six grandchildren, Wei Wei, Jin Jin, Rachel, Timothy, Deviny, and Prestin. She will be dearly missed by all her extended family and friends, but we will feel comfort knowing she will be resting with her Allen.

The grave-side funeral service will be held at Lake View Cemetery on Capitol Hill on 12/19/23 at 11:00am with a Celebration of Life luncheon to follow at Joyale Seafood Restaurant in China Town at 1:00pm.
