William E "Bill" Woertendyke

November 26, 1948 - May 5, 2025

William E "Bill" Woertendyke, born November 26, 1948, in Hartford, CT, passed away in Seattle on May 28, 2025 at the age of 76. He met his future husband, Frank Toce, in 1975 and they built a life together in Seattle that spanned 50 years that included a legal marriage on February 14, 2012 - the day after Washington State Governor Christine Gregoire signed the Marriage Equality Act.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Woertendyke; parents-in-law, Anthony and Camilla Toce; and siblings-in-law, Anthony, Madelyn (Bocompani), Rocco, and Charles Toce. Bill is survived by his husband, Frank Toce; sister Margo; siblings-in-law Joyce Colella and Mark Toce; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill will be dearly missed and very fondly remembered as a kind man with a great sense of humor, a generous spirit, and an enduring diligence about taking care of family and friends. May his memory remain a blessing for all who knew him.
