Yi Jiang

Yi Jiang passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, surrounded by her husband, son,  and grandchildren.

Born in Shandong, China, in 1957, Yi was a strong trailblazer. She was the first in her family to receive university degree (MD) and went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Japan. Her sacrifices were immense—leaving her as a young child to provide a brighter future for our family. With strength and resilience, she helped move her family from China to Japan and ultimately to the United States, changing the course of her family lives forever.

In Seattle, she worked diligently in research labs at University of Washington Medical School while raising her son. Yi's life was one of unwavering dedication, frugality, and selflessness. Even in the face of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, she remained resilient, using her final years to create cherished memories with her family. Yi's legacy is one of love, strength, and sacrifice. She taught her family the importance of perseverance and the selflessness of a parent’s devotion. Her spirit lives on in her son, Eric and her grandsons, Vincent and Felix, who have inherited her perfectionism and determination.
