WOO LEE (1941-2025)
Woo Lee, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025 in Seattle. He was 84.
One of nine children of Chinese immigrant parents, Bo and Lai Fong Lee, Woo was born April 7, 1941, on Beacon Hill in Seattle, WA. He was a proud graduate of Franklin High School and the University of Washington. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1963-69, and was briefly stationed in Ansbach, Germany.
He devoted all his time, energy and caring to his family. He worked hard supporting 4 kids, and tackled countless handyman and honey-do projects for family and friends. These acts of love spoke louder than words. Reliably positive, always curious and with a mischievous playful sense of humor, he was also a self-described “mathematician” and loved helping with school homework and even mastered the Rubik’s cube later in life.
Woo, and his beloved wife, Sue, built their lives together sharing passions for cooking, cultivating a large flower and vegetable garden, and occupying their time together with hobbies related to arts and crafts. Woo's greatest joy as a family man, was to always be ready to lend a helping hand, offer guidance, or simply listen. His selflessness, steady presence, and unconditional love were the gifts he shared generously throughout his life.
Woo also had a remarkable 55-year career with the Boeing Company, and with his sharp analytical mind he made lasting contributions to Boeing through his focus on maximizing operational and financial efficiencies for the Boeing 747 airplane. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence earned him awards, respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Woo will be greatly remembered for his patience, kindness, hard work-ethic and mostly loyalty to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sue; his children, Mike (Elise), Tina (Michael), Tammy (Jason), and Mary; 7 grandchildren, Matthew(Yagmur), Brandon, Stephen, Madeline(Matthew), Nicholas, Lauren and Nora, and great-grandchildren, Iris and Eden. He is survived by his brothers, Paul, Chun(Donna), Foo(Gloria), Din and many nephews and nieces.
A service to honor Woo’s life will be held on November 15, 2025 at 11:30 am at Emmick Family Funeral Home ~ Lake View at 1554 15th Ave East, Seattle, WA 98112
